About ECHO

ECHO (Emergency Central Heating Offer) is a funded heating scheme that offers emergency assistance to qualifying households to repair or replace broken or condemned gas boilers. Ridgewater Energy help those throughout Dorset to obtain funding where eligible.

Over winter a lack of heating and hot water can have a severe impact on the health and wellbeing of those most affected by the cold.

If you are an owner occupier with a broken gas boiler, you may be eligible for a fully funded (subject to survey) brand new, A rated energy efficient gas boiler replacement. This scheme is not the same as some other part funded schemes as every qualifying household is entitled to the same level of assistance, regardless of the property type for example. So if you have tried in vain previously, please call us as we may be able to assist.

ECHO is provided by AgilityEco and promoted and referred to by it’s working partners, (Ridgewater Energy for Dorset) and is funded by several energy companies through the Warm Home Discount Industry Initiative Scheme. ECHO was launched in 2017 and we have assisted over 200 Dorset residents with a free gas boiler replacement under the scheme.

You may qualify if you have*:

  • Pension Guarantee Credit
  • Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
  • Income Support
  • Severe Disablement Allowances
  • Universal Credit
  • Tax Credits
  • Disability Benefits

BCP and Dorset councils have their own list of extended criteria under Eco Flexible Eligibility, depending on which Council area you live in, may include:

  • Low income and health condition
  • Low income and high heating costs
  • In receipt of certain other benefits/allowances

(Oil and LPG boilers do not qualify for ECHO)
